A scary moment arrived for the Chicago White Sox on Sunday when star youngster Luis Robert went down with an injury trying to beat out a throw to first.

Chicago White Sox fans across the country were holding their collective breaths on Sunday in the middle of the showdown with the Cleveland Indians. Early on in the action, center fielder Luis Robert sprinted his way down the line to try and get to first, but he injured himself and fell to the ground.

Robert appeared to be in serious pain and had to be helped off the field. Video of the injury is tough to watch for Chicago supporters out there.

Luis Robert left Sunday’s game with a hip injury

As bad as things looked for Robert, the White Sox have already come out and said he suffered a right hip flexor strain. The X-rays were negative as well, so it doesn’t look like things appear to be too serious. He’ll be reevaluated on Monday.

At first look, we don’t blame you if you thought Robert’s injury was going to sideline him for a while. The grimace on his face let us know just how painful it was. However, things look to be okay for Robert here and the hope is that he’ll be able to get back to the field sooner than later.
