Pick Analysis. . Josh Jackson. 49. Scouting Report. CB, Packers. 1. player

In 42 games for the Packers since being drafted in the second round of the 2018 draft out of the University of Iowa, Jackson has as many  interceptions as you and I do. He started 10 games and played 718 snaps (68 percent snap share) as a rookie. In the two seasons since, over 26 games, he has played 434 defensive snaps and 366 special teams snaps

The re-signing of Kevin King already cast further, obvious doubt on Jackson’s future in Green Bay. Then the Packers took cornerback Eric Stokes in the first round of the draft, and circled back to draft a second corner (Shemar Jean-Charles out of Appalachian State) in the fifth round.

Jackson is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He was already down the depth chart before Brian Gutekunst used a first-round pick on a corner. Then another corner was added for depth on Day 3, to theoretically and more directly replace Jackson.

News of Jackson being cut loose by the Packers should come very soon. According to Over The Cap, they will clear $1.33 million in cap space and eat $657,443 in dead money when they officially move on from a failed early draft pick cornerback.
