The New York Rangers want the NHL to remove George Parros from his position as the head of the Department of Player Safety after Tom Wilson only got fined for injuring Artemi Panarin.

Tom Wilson of the Washington Capitals has made a lot of enemies during his career. His most recent enemies? The New York Rangers. On Monday, May 3, Wilson went after Rangers forwards Pavel Buchenvich and Artemi Panarin. He injured the latter after Panarin stepped in to help his teammate.

Everyone was expecting Wilson to get suspended because he has been suspended three times in his career. Including once already this season. However, instead, the Department of Player Safety elected to fine him $5,000, the maximum amount allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.

Understandably, a lot of people were upset. Some of those people work for the Rangers because their twitter account just put out a statement.

Yes, you read that statement correctly. The Rangers, who are the most valuable NHL franchise, want the NHL to remove George Parros from his position as the head of the Department of Player Safety.

Here’s the sad part. The Rangers will probably get fined for this. And I’m willing to bet they’ll be fined more than Wilson. We’ll have to see where this leads, but if Parros is starting to lose support among the teams, he could be on the hot seat.
