Veteran cornerback Richard Sherman is no stranger to the Seattle Seahawks and appears to be quite interested in returning to the team.

Few athletes were more intriguing in the city of Seattle than Richard Sherman. During his time with the Seahawks, Sherman talked smack left and right, with his energy matching that of Supersonics legend Gary Payton.

Sherman’s breakup with the organization was less than ideal, though, and he ended up signing with the rival San Francisco 49ers. He didn’t leave town without helping the Seahawks win a Super Bowl and nearly going back-to-back. With that said, now that he’s a free agent, would the veteran cornerback want to run things back with Pete Carroll and John Schneider? It looks that way.

Former Seahawks standout Richard Sherman would welcome a return to Seattle

Sherman spent the first seven years of his career with the Seahawks and solidified himself as one of the best defensive backs in the game. Seattle’s feared ‘Legion of Boom’ is still something that’s talked about outside of Lumen Field.

During his time with the Hawks, Sherman went to the Pro Bowl four times and earned First Team All-Pro honors three times. Back in 2013, the same campaign where Seattle took down Denver to win its first ever Super Bowl, Sherman led the league with his eight interceptions.

All in all, he posted 32 interceptions and nearly 400 tackles while suiting up for Seattle. Now, it looks like Sherman wouldn’t mind heading back to the Pacific Northwest to continue his career with the team that drafted him. While he may no longer be in his prime, Sherman could be a sneaky good addition for the front office this late in free agency.

Fans sure would welcome him back to town with open arms as well.
