3. A ton of Finals experience from the stars

Irving and Durant are two players who have won championships. Harden has not, but he is no stranger to carrying a team in the NBA Playoffs.

Irving hit one of the most famous shots in Finals history to take down the mighty Golden State Warriors in 2016. In fact, his shot led Durant to join those Warriors and make that team unbeatable as they won the next two titles.

Some fans may also forget Harden was with Durant in Oklahoma City when the team had a magical run to the Finals in 2012. His career went to a whole new level in Houston, but he did get Finals experience early on.

Two players hoping to prove they can do well in the playoffs are Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Both failed to lead the LA Clippers to the Finals and now get a shot as role players in Brooklyn. Having a trio of Durant, Harden and Irving around should make things a bit easier.

This has been a grueling season where the NBA packed in 72 games into a short window of time. Major stars are suffering injuries, and playing into July is going to require a ton of mental toughness. Having stars who know what it takes to win it all is a major bonus.
