1. As long as LeBron is healthy, Lakers are still title favorites

The title says it all. As long as LeBron James comes back from injury, his opponents don’t stand a chance.

James’ recent comments about his injury may have given some fans a reason to worry, but the fact is when James and Davis are on the court together, they are unstoppable. Los Angeles is 17-6 when both stars are playing; last season, it was 45-15 and 16-5 in the playoffs. Simply put, James and Davis are the most explosive duo in the league — assuming both are healthy, of course.

With both James and Davis in the game, it also frees up court space for other Lakers to settle into more comfortable roles, with players like Alex Caruso and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope getting more open opportunities and more moments to shine.

And finally, regardless of where his exact place is on the NBA’s ranking of all-time players, LeBron James is still very, very high on the list. It goes without saying that he’s one of the best players in the league. Coming back from injury at age 36 may be tough, but if anyone can do it, it’s LeBron. Aside from his injury-plagued 2019 season, James has made an appearance in the NBA Finals every season for the last decade. He’s the best leader the Lakers could ever ask for, and the basketball gods be damned if James lets anything get in his way of another trophy.
