Jordan Davis should be a top-25 pick if 2021 goes according to plan for him

While Georgia has a robust history in the 21st century of getting linebackers and defensive backs drafted, we have not seen a guy in the trenches with this much acclaim in quite some time. Jordan Davis could have gone pro after his junior season and been drafted. By returning for his senior year, we are looking at a potential First-Team All-SEC performer and top-25 2022 NFL Draft pick.

If Davis plays up to lofty standards in Georgia’s season opener vs. Clemson in Charlotte, that will go a long way towards him possibly climbing up draft boards. Outside of the neutral-site affairs in Charlotte and Jacksonville, Georgia has a very navigable schedule. This means Davis will have ample opportunities to wreck the offensive game plans of lesser SEC teams throughout the year.

JT Daniels could be Georgia’s first Heisman finalist in more than a generation

It was only a limited sample size, but quarterback JT Daniels did things from the quarterback position Dawg Nation had not seen since Aaron Murray or even Matthew Stafford was their quarterback. The former five-star recruit of the USC Trojans certainly turned heads during the last third of last season. With a full offseason under his belt, Daniels could become a Georgia legend.

The Dawgs have not had a Heisman finalist since Garrison Hearst back in 1992. While there are other talented blue-chip quarterback prospects in this draft, such as Oklahoma’s Spencer Rattler and North Carolina’s Sam Howell, Daniels has the potential to be this year’s Joe Burrow in Todd Monken’s offense. If Georgia wins the SEC and Daniels is electrifying, yeah, he could go No. 1.

Look for Georgia to be among the college teams with the most players drafted again in 2022.
