4. at New Orleans Saints

If you are a fan of the spread offense, downfield attacking, and NFL games that feature a large number of points, then watching the Cowboys play the New Orleans Saints of recent has definitely not been your type of game.

The last two matchups between the two have totaled 45 points combined. In November of 2018, Dallas won at home 13-10. Then, in September of the following year, New Orleans took it at home 12-10.

These teams will look different this go-around, specifically for New Orleans since Drew Brees’ retirement. Dallas has the weapons to score much more than they have in the previous matchups against Sean Payton’s Saints, and this New Orleans’ side seems more susceptible without the future Hall of Famer Brees under center.

Road wins help build momentum and are often what separates playoff teams from those who are not. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome is no easy place to play in for opposing teams. However, as the club looks easier to beat than usual, this becomes a game the Cowboys need to win.

When you look at the Cowboys’ road schedule, this matchup screams must-win was you sort through the other teams Dallas will have to visit. Other than the usual divisional games, the club will travel to Kansas City, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles (Chargers), and Minnesota.

Considering how stacked that slate is, this matchup with the Saints carries a lot of importance. The road will be a slog for Dallas in 2021, but this is a win the team needs to secure to keep pace in the division.
