Scouting Report. Las Vegas Raiders. player. 28. Pick Analysis. AFC West. . 3

If Derek Carr was on the Broncos last season, one could make an argument they would’ve been a top-five team in the AFC. The way Lock played, Las Vegas might have landed Trevor Lawrence instead of finishing 8-8 on the year.

Both Denver and Las Vegas are hopeful teams that will improve in 2021. Just based off the rosters, one of these two is likely expected to be in the cellar of the AFC West. For the Raiders, it’ll be because of defensive disaster.

For the Broncos? You already know the reason.

Lock should have an opportunity to carve up the Raiders’ putrid secondary. Sure, Mike Mayock added three safeties, but will all be ready to start? Is Damon Arnette and Trayvon Mullen really enough to stop Sutton and Jeudy? The same goes with any linebacker looking to cover Fant in the the flats.

The Raiders have Carr and that’s about it for now. Make no mistake, the former 2014 second-round pick is living up to his end of the bargain, finishing back-to-back seasons with 4,000-plus passing yards. If Denver though is truly the better team, it shouldn’t matter who is the quarterback for next season in Sin City.
