4. Vs. Cleveland Browns

One of the keys to success for Kansas City in 2021 will be taking advantage of matchups against other AFC playoff contenders. One key game will come at Arrowhead Stadium when the Cleveland Browns come to town looking for revenge.

These two met up in a memorable Divisional Round playoff game in January where Cleveland had a chance to steal the game after Mahomes got hurt and was forced to leave the game with a concussion. The Browns’ defense simply couldn’t get a stop down the stretch when it counted, losing 22-17.

Mahomes should be healthy for the rematch, which could provide a boost to Kansas City’s chances of making a statement against Cleveland. This game could be pivotal for playoff seeding as well since the Browns have an excellent chance of winning the AFC North, and a win could secure a head-to-head tiebreaker over Cleveland in the standings.

Winning these types of games is important for Kansas City in order to avoid giving hope to up-and-coming teams that they stand a chance of taking them down. Reminding the Browns of the fact that the Chiefs are still the class of the AFC is an important statement to make during the regular season.
