1. vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Raiders finished second in the AFC West this past season and did hang one of the two regular-season losses to their most bitter of divisional rivals. But this has been a nightmare of a series for the Silver and Black in recent years and dates back to Andy Reid’s arrival in Kansas City in 2013.

The Chiefs own a combined 13-3 record vs. the Raiders the past eight seasons. That includes a 6-2 road record be it Oakland (5-2) or Las Vegas (1-0). Regardless of the quarterback, be it Alex Smith or now star Patrick Mahomes, Reid’s team has had few problems putting points on the board against the Silver and Black.

Last year in Week 5 at Arrowhead Stadium, the Raiders stunned the Chiefs, 40-32. Six weeks later on a Sunday night at Las Vegas, Mahomes and company rallied for a 35-31 victory.

It is interesting to note that the Raiders and Chiefs both finished with a 4-2 divisional record in 2020. Of course, the latter also won six more regular-season games than Gruden’s bunch and finished with the NFL’s best record (14-2) this past season. The Silver and Black still have a long way to go when it comes to this rivalry.
