Game of the Week: Jaguars at Jets

You might be shocked to see this game highlighted. Yes, there are other games which feature much better teams, fighting for much bigger prizes. The Jaguars and Jets don’t immediately come to mind when you’re thinking about showcases, but the reason is obvious.

For the first time in what hopefully is many times, we have Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson going at it. Lawrence, the No. 1 overall pick, goes against the man drafted one slot behind him. Lawrence was looking like a sure bet for most of 2020 to end up with Gang Green, but a late winning streak coupled with Jacksonville losing 15 straight landed him in Duval. This will be the Jets’ fans first chance to see what they could have had.

Hopefully, both quarterbacks are sensational and this game ends up being about both their matchup but also two surprising squads fighting for the playoffs. Likely? Absolutely not, but in the NFL, teams go from worst to first all the time. Heck, the 49ers went from the No. 2 overall pick in 2018 to the Super Bowl only 12 months later. Anything is possible.
