Game of the WeekVikings at Packers

Could this game tilt the division? While the Vikings missed the playoffs last year, they’re clearly good enough to make a run towards and deep through the playoffs. Kirk Cousins is playing for his future and Minnesota did a nice job of fixing up the defensive with the additions of defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and cornerback Patrick Peterson, among others.

As for the Packers, they are trying to maintain their grip on the NFC North and win the division for the third consecutive year. Green Bay and Minnesota split the season series last year, with each winning a blowout affair on the other’s home turf.

The question for Minnesota is the same as it has been for years: can Cousins do enough to beat the quality teams when it counts? To win the North, the Vikings will need either Aaron Rodgers to be traded, or Cousins to step up and outshine him. We’ve seen the former Michigan State star play some big games over his underrated career. Perhaps he gets the job done this year against Green Bay and helps Minnesota get back into the playoffs with a home game or two to host.
