3 guaranteed wins on Packers schedule that will be losses if Aaron Rodgers is traded
By Scott Rogust
2. At Minnesota Vikings
Once the Minnesota Vikings signed Kirk Cousins in 2018, the Packers were locked in a dead-heat with their NFC North division rival. In their three seasons facing off, the Packers hold a 3-2-1 record against the Vikings.
This offseason, the Vikings did make some solid additions like cornerback Patrick Peterson, defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson and safety Xavier Woods. Not to mention, they had a solid 2021 draft class that ranks among the top of the league. Make no mistake about it, the Vikings could very well make some noise in 2021 if they get competent results at the quarterback position.
Vikings-Packers matchups have been the equivalent of a coin toss since the Cousins signing, but it could tilt in Minnesota’s favor without Rodgers. Green Bay would have a challenge in keeping up with the Vikings with Dalvin Cook, Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson putting yards on the stat sheets and points on the board.
1. At Chicago Bears
Whenever the Packers faced off against the Chicago Bears in the Mitchell Trubisky era, it was basically a no-contest. Look no further than last season, when Rodgers and company 76-41 in their two meetings, both with Trubisky under center.
Entering 2021, there was not much optimism at quarterback when the team signed Andy Dalton to lead the offense. But, the fanbase received a jolt in the form of Justin Fields, after Chicago traded up in the first round to select their signal caller of the future out of Ohio State.
Regardless of who starts at quarterback for the Bears, Green Bay could struggle to defeat their divisional foes. Let’s not forget that Chicago still has one of the best defenses in the league, despite releasing cornerback Kyle Fuller this offseason. If Rodgers is playing elsewhere in 2021, Love better hope that his offensive line holds up, because Khalil Mack could single-handedly ruin his day.
