Patrick Mahomes to battle Packers and (maybe) Aaron Rodgers in November

The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes will take on the Green Bay Packers, who may or may not be led by Aaron Rodgers, in a marquee fall matchup.

NFL fans should circle Nov. 7 on their calendars. It’s when the Chiefs and Packers will face off in a potential Super Bowl sneak-peak featuring two of the game’s best quarterbacks.

That’s if Aaron Rodgers is still the quarterback in Green Bay when the time comes.

The Packers will travel to Kansas City for the Week 9 game, which will either get top billing or be a fascinating what-if.

Patrick Mahomes and Rodgers have never played against each other, so this game could be a fun first.

Short of unforeseen circumstances, Mahomes will definitely be at the helm for the Chiefs come No. 7. He signed a 10-year contract to keep him playing at Arrowhead for a long, long time. Kansas City simply needs to avoid angering him the way Green Bay has gotten under Rodgers’ skin.

It’s hard to say if Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers will actually battle

Rodgers reportedly sees no future with the Packers organization. The 2020 NFL MVP isn’t happy with the way the Packers have failed to communicate with him on draft picks. While the Buccaneers are incorporating Tom Brady at seemingly every level of their decision-making, Rodgers hasn’t felt the same kind of respect.

Now, every game involving the Packers has a giant question mark attached to it.

With Rodgers, they’re a Super Bowl contender. The Chiefs could gauge their readiness to make another deep playoff run based on that Nov. outcome.

However, if backup quarterback Jordan Love is at quarterback, the equation changes quite a bit. Maybe he’ll have Green Bay rolling by November. Or maybe the wheels will have fallen off by then.
