3 reasons the Knicks can win at least one playoff series
2. The resurgence of Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose was wasting time with the Detroit Pistons at the start of the season. He was then traded to the Knicks and is now a key reason why the team can make a deep playoff run.
Rose is averaging over 15 points per game in New York and is one of the more efficient players on the roster. He is still only 32 years old and is proving there is a lot of basketball left in the former MVP.
Health is always the question with Rose. His first stint with the Knicks ended with a knee surgery and he nearly retired during his time in Cleveland. The second time around in New York has gone much better.
Most of all he serves as a veteran presence alongside Taj Gibson. It was easy to make jokes earlier this year about the Knicks trying to be the 2011 Chicago Bulls. But if the plan works then poking fun at it is futile.
Rose’s resurgence is partially due to being healthy. The other factor that cannot be ignored is him being paired with his old coach.
