Trevor Bauer trolls Rob Manfred with hilarious press conference garb
Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer decided to troll MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred in a big way with a simple sign.
It would be an understatement to say Trevor Bauer is not a big fan of MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. The Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher is one of the more outspoken players in a league that can’t seem to get with the times in terms of marketing starts.
Bauer already has issues with MLB due to the league saying he can’t wear his own merchandise during press conferences. The ace decided he would listen to the rules, but make it a point to say they were silly in the best way he knows how.
Trevor Bauer trolls Rob Manfred with sign
Technically, Bauer is not showing off his own logo here.
Some fans are sick of Bauer acting this way, but others will get behind him and agree Manfred is not doing enough to promote the game. Telling players they can’t create their own brands is a bit backward when considering stars in other sports who are household names on and off the field.
Things are slowly starting to change in the game. Players are starting to celebrate more, even if that enrages the purists out there.
What Bauer wants is to build a business centered around his name. It is almost like Manfred and MLB are like the NCAA by fining him for showing off his own merch. However, current licensing deals play a part in this as well.
Bauer is an enigma and this sign is the latest example of why he is loved by some and hated by others.
