Jalen Hurts has never been one to back down from a challenge, and that most certainly won’t change with the Eagles starting quarterback competition.

With Carson Wentz gone and now taking over the offense for the Indianapolis Colts, Philadelphia Eagles fans expect second-year signal-caller Jalen Hurts to take over as the team’s starter. Well, let’s hold the phone on that.

First-year head coach Nick Sirianni has said that there will be an open competition for the starting quarterback job, which will be won during camp. You think Hurts is scared of this? No chance at all, folks.

Jalen Hurts is ready to go out and win the quarterback job for the Eagles

“Rent is due every day,” Hurt said on the quarterback competition. “I don’t plan on missing any payments.”

Come on, Eagles fans. Don’t be scared to admit that Hurts’ latest quote absolutely has you fired up for camp to arrive. It’d be a big-time shock if he doesn’t lead the team out onto the field for that Week 1 showdown against the Atlanta Falcons. The former second-round pick started off the season on the bench for Philadelphia, but he took advantage of the extra game action late in the season for the Eagles.

Hurts appeared in 15 games for Philadelphia last year, making four starts. On the campaign, the former Oklahoma/Alabama star threw for 1,061 yards and six touchdowns, while adding 354 rushing yards and three additional scores. His dual-threat abilities really made it exciting for Eagles fans to watch.

Come 2021, he’ll hope to not only win the No. 1 job but hang on to it for the year and help power his team to a postseason berth. Entering the new season, Hurts most definitely has the right mindset, that’s for sure.
