Skip Bayless went full Skip Bayless in reacting to LeBron’s shot against Warriors

LeBron James gave us our first great moment of the playoffs, so of course Skip Bayless had a horrible take about it.
What a week it’s been for old guys yelling at people to get off their lawn.
First Tony La Russa not only condemns Yermin Mercedes doing baseball correctly but goes as far as to support retaliatory violence against him. Then there’s Skip Bayless, who is so deeply committed to his bit that it’s sometimes amusing.
If there’s one thing Skip’s bit is, though, it’s predictable.
LeBron James hit a catch-and-shoot dagger against the Warriors in Wednesday night’s play-in game, giving us our first great moment of the playoffs*.
*Disclaimer: It’s not technically the playoffs because the NBA isn’t counting stats towards either the regular season or the playoffs. Also this is a singular moment, whereas Jayson Tatum’s 50-point destruction of the Wizards was amazing for an entire 48 minutes.
Skip Bayless reacts to LeBron James daggering the Warriors
After the game, while everyone was still processing how the game ended, Skip took out his Thanos gauntlet and started collecting exactly the type of takes you’d expect him to have.
“Lucky desperate three by LeBron with the pressure off at the end of the shot clock,” Bayless said, likely shirtless and screaming at his own reflection in a mirror after the game. “He’s at his best when there’s no drive-or-launch decision. He can just heave and hope. If he misses, no expectation, no fault. It’s an “impossible” shot. Besides, he “was seeing three rims.”
But wait, there’s more.
Skip not only had his sights set on LeBron — per usual — rather he had his sights set on the Lakers as a whole.
“The team in the Staples basement was watching tonight, resting, grinning, licking its chops. The Clippers are going to win the West,” Bayless cackled as lightning flashed and thunder boomed behind him.
Andre Drummond was also collateral in the take-pocalypse.
My biggest takeaway for the Lakers: The Big Penguin doesn't work for them, as I predicted when they acquired Kareem Abdul-Drummond. He's a lane-clogger and ball-stopper. Can't wait to hear what Shannon now thinks about his "guy."

There’s not point in being anything other than amused by this. Sports discourse for as long as humans have been able to verbalize, and with it has existed painfully bad takes. As long as there’s nothing actively offensive or harmful being said, Diet Coke edgelords stoking conversational coals with predictably heel-turn takes is just part of what makes the Twitterverse go round.
