Have a season, Carlos Rodon. The Chicago White Sox lefty is making the Yankees hitters look foolish in the Bronx.

Rodon threw a no-hitter against the Cleveland Indians in April, one of six so far on the season. He was in rare form once again on Friday night in the Bronx against the New York Yankees. Through six innings, Rodon had 13 strikeouts and counting, making for one of the most impressive outings of the year so far.

Rodon routinely overpowered Yankees hitters, mixing it his fastball location and high velocity well with breaking pitches New York quite frankly was not prepared for.

Through just under two innings, Rodon already made history, and it wasn’t the good kind for the Yankees sluggers.

White Sox: Carlos Rodon channels Sandy Koufax in the Bronx

Per Elias Sports, by striking out the first five Yankees batters, Rodon set a mark not seen since 1963.

Being in the same conversation as Koufax is always a success.

On the season, Rodon has established himself as a potential AL Cy Young candidate. He has five wins on the season, along with a 1.47 ERA and 62 strikeouts through the sixth inning on Friday.

Ironically enough, Rodon suffered his first loss of the season in his last start, giving up four runs to the Kansas City Royals. He’d allowed only two runs in his first five games started.

Jordan Montgomery of the Yankees held tough with Rodon through most the game, making this one heck of a pitchers’ duel. Being upstaged by Rodon on this night, however, is tough to avoid.
