One step closer to Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder 3, Wilder signs on
Yahoo’s Kevin Iole tweeted that Deontay Wilder signed on for the trilogy fight with Tyson Fury. He reports Fury is on the way to Vegas to do the same.
Things are moving in the right direction for the anticipated boxing trilogy bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. Every day brings promising news, and here’s the latest.
On midday of May 21, Yahoo.com’s Kevin Iole tweeted that Deontay Wilder signed on for a proposed July 24 bout with Tyson Fury. His tweet also stated that Fury was en route to Las Vegas to follow suit.
“Update: @BronzeBomber has signed to fight @Tyson_Fury on July 24,” stated Iole’s tweet. “Fury on way to Vegas and will sign today or tomorrow.”
Just five days ago, Fury assured the world through social media that he was fighting fellow heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua in August in Saudi Arabia.

The next day, those plans were dashed when arbitrator Daniel Weinstein ruled that Fury had to fight Wilder next by Sept. 15. Fury and Joshua went back and forth on social media, but all reports pointed to Fury vs. Wilder 3 being the next major heavyweight fight.
Just yesterday, Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told iFL TV Fury vs. Wilder 3 would happen on July 24. Arum was unsure about the location, but Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas are the frontrunners.
Talk is great, but it’s meaningless unless PBC and Top Rank officially announce Fury vs. Wilder 3. The first step is making sure that Fury and Wilder sign an official agreement. They had a rematch clause in place, but that didn’t stop their situation from moving to arbitration.
Iole’s report shows that this fight is most likely happening and that Wilder and Fury are ready to go. Ink on paper is needed. Wilder signed on, and now Fury is next. Let’s hope we get a final announcement soon.
