3 players who need to step up and deliver for Lakers in Game 2 vs. Suns
Kyle Kuzma is not being relied upon to score 20 points per night. But he cannot do what he did Sunday.
Kuzma finished the game with zero points, three rebounds, one assist, and a negative plus-minus. That is not going to help any team and he may find himself on the bench if such play continues.
However, this is not a shocking new trend. In the month of May alone Kuzma scored at least 19 points on four occasions. He did not even crack double-digits in the other four. The Game 1 struggles may just be chalked up to the entire Lakers roster starting to settle in after the play-in tournament.
Kuzma just hitting his season average of right around 13 points per game would be huge moving forward. That starts with actually taking shots when he is on the floor, as he only took a total of two Sunday. Frank Vogel needs to tell him that if he is out there, he must make himself useful.
