This is the dream scenario for the Knicks. They are in need of a point guard, and their division rivals in the Toronto Raptors may very well lose Kyle Lowry to free agency.

The fact that Lowry finished the season on the Raptors came as a bit of a shock, especially with teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat interested in his services. Yet, they kept him on the team for the remainder of the campaign, where they finished outside of play-in round qualification.

Lowry is a playmaker that literally every team can use. He can set up scoring plays and can put up points on the board if need be. Through 46 games this season, Lowry is averaging 17.2 points, 7.3 assists and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 43.6-percent from the field and 39.6-percent from behind the arc.

While it is entirely possible that the 76ers and Heat can pursue Lowry on the open market after failing to land him at the trade deadline, they won’t be alone. According to SNY’s Ian Begley, Lowry is on the Knicks’ radar this summer.

There are plenty of point guard options that the Knicks could stand to add this offseason, but they need to walk away with at least one. But Lowry should be the one the Knicks try to land first.
