Vikings free agency: Pass or pursue these 6 impact free agents still available
Larry Fitzgerald
Fitzgerald has spent the entirety of his decorated 17-year career with the Cardinals, so it’s wild to imagine him in any other jersey. It could definitely happen if he decides to come back for an 18th season. Arizona signed A.J. Green and drafted Rondall Moore, so there isn’t exactly room for the future Hall of Famer in their starting lineup.
The Vikings could give Fitzgerald a chance to finish out his career where he was born and raised.
Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson are outstanding Top 2 options. Fitzgerald would be a hell of a third.
Verdict: Pursue
Sheldon Richardson
Just a couple of seasons ago, Richardson spent a season with the Vikings. He had 4.5 sacks and 16 quarterback hits while earning himself a lucrative contract with the Browns. Now Cleveland has released the 30-year-old and he’s free to return to Minnesota.
Richardson would definitely add a mouthwatering presence to the defensive line. Unlike many other free agent targets, he’s not an injury risk. The only real issue is that he’ll have his pick of competitive deals from teams who have guaranteed starting roles to offer. The Vikings might not be able to make it happen, but they should absolutely gauge his interest in returning.
Verdict: Pursue
