Adam Schein’s wild claim

Roethlisberger has led the Steelers to first place in the AFC North in three of the last five years, including 2020. Despite that, one CBS analyst made a bold claim about his place in the division.

“For 2021, the Steelers have the worst starting QB in the division,” Adam Schein said.

The AFC North boasts a talented array of quarterbacks, so there’s no shame in not being the best of the bunch. Right now, that title belongs firmly with Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Even Steelers fans might be able to concede some competition for second place between Roethlisberger and Baker Mayfield. However, Big Ben should be extra miffed by the idea he’s worse than Joe Burrow at this stage.

Burrow has a ton of talent and may have a bright future, but Cincinnati’s quarterback isn’t in the conversation with Roethlisberger or Mayfield.

When the Steelers take on the Bengals on Sept. 26 and Nov. 28, Roethlisberger will get the head-to-head opportunity to show up Burrow.

He can also get revenge on Mayfield for dumping the Steelers from the playoffs while reaffirming that two victories over the Ravens last season weren’t a fluke either.
