Trevor Bauer is not a fan of Mauricio Dubón using his sword celebration while touching home.

When San Francisco Giants middle infielder Mauricio Dubón connected on a three-run homer off Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, he openly mocked Trevor Bauer’s sword celebration when touching home plate.

While Bauer said he was a fan of this newfound celebratory nature of baseball, he did not take kindly to Dubon mocking his sword celebration. He voiced his frustration over Twitter after the Dodgers dropped their third game in a row to the arch rival Giants. Bauer did not pitch in this four-game series vs. the Giants, but he sure did come out of the series sounding very much like a hypocrite.

If you are going to put yourself out there like that, you have to eat some humble pie on occasion.

Look. We all should be cool with Bauer making the game more enjoyable from a pitcher’s standpoint. The swagger he brings to mound is a breath of fresh air to the incredibly stuff MLB. However, if he is going to pitch with one eye open or brandish a glorious and most majestic imaginary sword, he has to roll with the punches when he is being openly trolled by an opponent.

Again, this is part of Bauer’s nature. He is baseball’s lightning rod, so you would think he would be used to being the villain here. However, his comment on Twitter does make it seem like he is not as comfortable with being the heel of baseball. While he can keep doing the things that make him … him, he needs to do a better job of taking it on the chin. We cannot wait until their next series.

Expect Bauer to have a new, super cool celebration following a punchout in a start down the line.
