4. Texas

Colt McCoy is yet another example of a much better college than NFL quarterback. McCoy threw for over 13,000 yards with 112 touchdowns while in Austin. He led the Big 12 in completion percentage three times while leading the NCAA twice. He also led the conference once in completions. McCoy was an All-American in both 2008 and 2009 while winning the Walter Camp Award both years. He also won the 2009 Davey O’Brien, Maxwell and Johnny Unitas Awards.

Vince Young had one of the most memorable performances in college football history in the 2005 National Championship game against almighty USC. His Longhorn career was far from just that one game as he threw for over 6,000 yards with 44 passing and 37 rushing touchdowns. He was a 2005 All-American while winning the Davey O’Brien and Maxwell Awards. He was the 2005 Heisman runner-up, an interesting position since winner Reggie Bush gave that award back. Young is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

The just-graduated Sam Ehlinger leaves quite a void for the Longhorns. Ehlinger threw for over 11,000 yards with 94 passing and 33 rushing touchdowns.

The Texas trio threw for over 30,000 yards with 250 passing touchdowns, 90 rushing touchdowns, one National Championship and one induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
