1 prospect to call up: OF Drew Waters

When it comes to Braves prospects, the one that comes to mind first is Cristian Pache, who ranks first in the entire farm system. The thing is, Pache is currently down in Triple-A and is slated to make a return to the major-league roster very shortly after dealing with injuries this season.

Pache normally plays in center field, and the Braves could stand to make an upgrade at left field, especially following Marcell Ozuna being arrested on assault and battery charges. The Braves do have another top outfield prospect in the pipeline, and that is none other than Drew Waters.

The 22-year-old has made a name for himself with his speed on the base-paths and his arm in the outfield. But, he has put up solid numbers at the plate, especially this season.

Through 28 games at Triple-A Gwinnett, Waters is slashing .279/.375/.414 while recording three home runs, eight stolen bases, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored and 31 hits. Waters has a fielding percentage of .969 after recording 60 putouts on 64 total chances and tallying just two errors.

Waters brings versatility to the Braves, as he played left, right and center during his time in the minor leagues. If Atlanta wants to contend for a postseason berth this year, they need to consider calling up Waters in 2021.
