Raiders are the best team in the NFL at getting COVID-19 vaccine

Among all 32 teams in the NFL, the Las Vegas Raiders rank above the rest in terms of COVID-19 vaccination rates.
Some NFL minicamps have begun this week, and the main topic surrounding the football world has been in regards to the COVID-19 vaccine, specifically vaccine hesitancy. There has been emphatic stances against the vaccine and non-committal statements from players about whether they were going to get inoculated. That left many wondering who was doing the best in terms of vaccination rates.
According to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Las Vegas Raiders “might be the best in the league” in terms of COVID-19 vaccination rates. Bonsignore also added that Las Vegas’ entire coaching staff has been vaccinated.

The Raiders are obviously taking this very seriously. There may be a caveat for teams if they reach the 85-percent vaccination threshold, and that is the league is considering a relaxation of COVID-19 protocols. It is unknown if the Raiders have officially reached that threshold.
Earlier this week, vaccine hesitancy has taken center stage in the NFL. Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera brought in a COVID-19 vaccine specialist to speak with the team. After the talk, defensive lineman Montez Sweat said that he won’t get the vaccine until he gets more facts.
“I’m not a fan of it,” Sweat said, via Sam Fortier of The Washington Post. “I probably won’t get vaccinated until I get more facts and all that type (of) stuff. I’m not a fan of it at all.
“… I haven’t caught COVID yet. I don’t see me treating COVID until I actually get COVID.”
New Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold was non-committal about getting the vaccine, saying he is still weighing his options before stressing that it is everyone has the personal choice to get the vaccine or not.
The NFL issued a statement to teams to let them know that any one who is vaccinated that they do not have to wear a mask indoors or outdoors at their respective facilities, while those who have yet to be inoculated must continue to mask-up. The Raiders have stepped up to the plate to ensure that players and personnel are vaccinated ahead of the 2021 season.
