Javier Baez is in the dugout watching Sunday Night Baseball and he’s enjoying it with perhaps the biggest bag of popcorn you’ve ever seen.

Chicago Cubs fans were beyond worried on Sunday when it was announced that superstar shortstop Javier Baez had been scratched for the big showdown with the St. Louis Cardinals. Baez was ruled out with what’s been called a thumb injury.

Well, if you thought he was dealing with a ton of pain, it turns out the team doctors have prescribed some popcorn for him? Obviously not, but Baez was spotted early on in the action eating without question one of the biggest bags you’ll ever see.

Video of Javier Baez eating a massive bag of popcorn is sure to make your day

While Baez is known for being “El Mago,” which is Spanish for the magician, eating this entire bag of popcorn would be a trick no one would have seen coming. Matter of fact, for the sake of his stomach, we sure hope he doesn’t even come close to taking that massive thing down.

If anything, though, this clip of Baez is sure to make so many Chicago supporters out there smile. Again, there’s always going to be plenty of worry whenever a star player is scratched leading up to a massive game, especially when it’s the Cubs going up against the Cardinals in primetime.

In this case, though, it looks like the Cubs and skipper Davis Ross are just sitting Baez out here as a precautionary measure. With Baez’s thumb injury not being serious, he should be back on the diamond sooner than later. Until then, keep enjoying that popcorn and don’t be afraid to share with others please, Mr. Baez.
