Unfortunate news has arrived for the Houston Astros, as standout Alex Bregman has injured himself early on against Texas.

It’s been an awful night for MLB stars and suffering injuries. First, New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom was removed from his start against the Cubs with right shoulder tightness. He has struck out eight of the nine batters he had faced. Now, it looks like Houston Astros infielder Alex Bregman is banged up as well, as he’s been pulled after injuring himself in the bottom of the first.

Early on against the Texas Rangers, Bregman grounded out and sprinted towards first base to try and prevent a double play from being recorded. Instead, he pulled up with an injury and has been removed from the game.

As you can see in the video above, Bregman was flying down the first-base line, but then was in clear pain and discomfort. While we don’t want to speculate on his injury, it sure looks like this could be a hamstring issue.

That of course would be rough news for the AL West powerhouse, with a trip to the IL potentially on the way. The stud third baseman is hitting .276 this campaign, with seven homers and 34 RBI. We’ll have to wait and see what the severity of his injury is, but any time missed will surely be rough for Houston and veteran skipper Dusty Baker.
