2. Cleveland Indians

The Indians are 36-28 and in second place in the AL Central despite one of the worst offenses in the league this season.

Only two teams have logged fewer hits, though Cleveland is in decent company just ahead of the Mets and the Brewers. They’re also third-worst in batting average.

The outfield hasn’t delivered the output the Indians need to make waves in the American League, while an injury to DH Franmil Reyes only made things worse.

The thing is, the Indians wouldn’t have to go crazy in the trade market to upgrade. They don’t need to deal away assets for a make-or-break move. They can shop in the middle-tier for better bats like Anthony Santander of the Orioles.

Of course, if they really wanted to get bold, they could make a run at Mitch Haniger.

Outside of the offense, Cleveland could also be a buyer in the pitcher market. Shane Bieber is injured along with Zach Plesac, leaving the rotation in serious need.
