2. Warriors: Kelly Oubre Jr. could draw value on the open market.

Getting set to hit free agency, the only way Kelly Oubre Jr. returns to the Warriors next season is if they match any contract offer he gets on the open market. Given Golden State’s limited cap space availability, it’s unlikely they would bring him back.

Also factoring in the return of Klay Thompson, pushing Oubre to the bench for the price that he’s reportedly asking for ($20 million per year), would be expensive in a limited role.

Instead, the Warriors should explore sign-and-trade options should they be available. Oubre is only 25-years old, and his skill set and athletic abilities provide enough confidence to suggest his best playing days are ahead.

There will be plenty of contending teams looking to add Oubre this season.

1. Warriors:  Revamp the bench and improve defensively.

When the Warriors dynasty was running through teams, they had arguably the deepest roster in the league. Aside from an excellent starting-5, the Golden State bench was filled with players who embraced their roles and excelled when their names were called. If the Warriors want to get back to title contention, they’ll need to add these players in the offseason.

They can’t be too pricey with the amount of money already on the books, but there are some solid veterans that will be available at a decent cost.

One name that comes to mind for the Warriors’ bench includes league-wide and fan favorite, Boban Marjanovic. The 7-foot 4-inch center has an estimated annual value of $3.5 million next season. Marjanovic provides a veteran presence and leader for 20-year-old James Wiseman.

Someone else I think the Warriors can benefit from having on their bench is Lakers guard Alex Caruso. Listed at 6-foot-5, Caruso has made a name of being something of a pest on the defensive end of the floor. He’s an energizer, and I think he would fit in perfectly with this Warriors team who has always thrived off players like Caruso. He’s projected at a value of $2.75 million per year.

With the right moves that fit their budget, I don’t think it will be long before the Warriors are back on top in the Western Conference.
