Adam Frazier is another hitter who could help solve the Yankees’ offensive woes

If the Yankees are going to improve their overall roster, especially at the plate, they are going to have to look at teams in the National League who are no longer playing to win much of anything this season. We have already listed the Diamondbacks as a potential trade partner, but let’s turn our attention to the NL Central cellar dweller known as the Pittsburgh Pirates and Adam Frazier.

While Frazier does not offer the same kind of power as Marte at the plate, the second baseman can play some outfield as well. He is also having a career-year at the plate for the Buccos. Fraizer is slashing .327/.390/.459 this season through 67 games. He also leads all of baseball with 23 doubles on the year. Gap power is good enough as home-run power at this point for the Yankees.

As with Marte, Frazier will not be hitting free agency until 2023. However, he is entering the final year of arbitration next winter. Though he could go up in price as a member of the 2022 Yankees, he is not going to command as much in a trade as it would striking a deal with the lowly Diamondbacks for Marte. Frazier may not check all of the boxes here, but he would be an upgrade.

While adding Frazier or Marte in a trade could help, there is one other player to seriously look at.
