2. Mike Scott

In theory, Scott has something to offer as a scorer and shooter off the bench. And when an opportunity comes, does have an occasional pop-up game. But his body of work is not that impressive, and he was completely out of the 76ers’ rotation over the seven games against Atlanta as he played one minute in the entire series.

After acquiring him in the deal that brought Tobias Harris aboard in 2019 and giving him a two-year, $9.8 million contract the following offseason, Philadelphia got 5.7 points per game from Scott over 146 games (26 starts) as he did shoot solidly from 3-point range. Finding a place in a role alongside the 76ers “Big 3” of Embiid, Simmons and Harris can be hard. But Scott fell short of even minimal expectations, and then as mentioned eventually completely fell out of Doc Rivers’ rotation.

Scott will now be an unrestricted free agent, and he may be able to find a better opportunity elsewhere. For the 76ers, he became a replaceable piece who will easily be replaced now that his contract is done.
