1. Add a wing defender

Pretty much everyone in the NBA is looking for wing defenders. The Nets are not alone in that, especially with such a porous defense. Because of that, it’s essential for Brooklyn to find someone capable of at least limiting all the stud wings in the conference. They’re everywhere after all.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is a monster on the wing. The Nets figured that out in their series and had no hopes of pinning him down. The Bucks also have Khris Middleton causing problems there. That’s not to mention all the stars who could give the team fits in future series like Bradley Beal, Jimmy Butler, Pascal Siakam and Jayson Tatum.

Bruce Brown did a good job bringing defensive energy there, but the Nets could use another defensive force on the roster. If they let Brown go, it becomes even more essential to add another.

Of course, the fact that everyone else is in the market won’t make this one an easy or cheap find. Maybe the answer is Wesley Matthews. Maybe it’s Andre Iguodala. Whoever they identify, a wing defender should be at the top of Brooklyn’s shopping list for the coming season.
