4. QB Trevor Siemian

Raise your hand if you knew that the New Orleans Saints actually had four quarterbacks on their current roster (via Ourlads). The list includes six-year pro James Winston, versatile weapon Taysom Hill and 2021 third-round draft choice Ian Book from the Fighting Irish.

But earlier in the year, the organization signed Trevor Siemian to a future’s contract. Does he truly figure in the mix this upcoming season? He last took the field for the New York Jets on a Monday night in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns and went down early with an ankle injury.

In 2016-17, he made a combined 24 starts for the Denver Broncos and threw for 5,686 yards and 30 scores but 24 interceptions.

3. RB Ty Montgomery

First it was Mark Ingram and the 2017 third-round pick from the University of Tennessee. The former would eventually move on and the Saints scooped up Latavius Murray in free agency. In any case, Sean Payton’s offense has been a different and more balanced beast since running back Alvin Kamara joined the team from the Big Easy.

A total of 60 regular-season games have added up to an impressive 6,164 yards from scrimmage and 58 total touchdowns. Dwayne Washington has also been on the roster for the past three seasons.

Veteran Ty Montgomery appeared in seven games (including playoff) for Sean Payton’s club in 2020 and garnered only 23 touches.
