2021 NBA Draft Lottery: Who should each team take with the No. 1 pick?
By Ian Levy
There have been some quiet whispers that Collin Sexton’s teammates may not be wild about his ball dominance and if the Cavs do land the No. 1 pick (an 11.5 percent chance) there’s a chance they could focus on Cunningham and look to trade Sexton. There’s also, of course, a good chance they could just take Cunningham and ignore the overlap and ball-handling issues with Sexton, Darius Garland and Isaac Okoro.
However, I like the idea of them chasing Mobley here and continuing to let their young backcourt and wing coalesce together. Mobley would have to play a lot of 4 next to Jarrett Allen but his shooting touch and passing ability from the elbows make that seem like a nice fit. In addition, he’d give them another strong interior anchor on defense helping Allen and Okoro cover for the defensive shortcomings of Garland and Sexton.
