Big. Charlotte Hornets. Evan Mobley. 11. player. 170.

The Hornets took a huge leap this season thanks in large part to the surprisingly strong play of Rookie of the Year LaMelo Ball. They almost made the playoffs and have just a 1.8 percent chance of landing the top pick but a ping-pong ball miracle could push them towards another leap next season.

Cunningham may be more ready to make an impact next season and the idea of pairing him with Ball is intriguing for the future. But the Hornets already have so much depth in the backcourt and on the wings with Terry Rozier, Devonte’ Graham and a possibly re-signed Malik Monk. A big man who can be a defensive anchor, help space the floor and add another dimension to their offense with his roll game and match-up busting post-ups could really take this team to the next level. It’s Mobley by a nose.
