LeBron James doesn’t appear too concerned about the news of teammate Alex Caruso’s arrest.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso was arrested on marijuana possession charges in Brazos County, Texas on Tuesday. On the list of serious offenses, possession of weed remains a pretty low concern. In many states, weed has been decriminalized or even fully legalized.

If the reaction from Caruso’s teammates and Lakers fans is any indication, NBA Twitter largely agrees he doesn’t belong in jail for carrying weed. Even LeBron James doesn’t seem bothered by the arrest. James is already joking about the arrest on Twitter.

LeBron James jokes about Alex Caruso’s arrest

Judging by James’ reaction tonight, he has bigger concerns than teammates carrying weed. He’s probably put more thought into Caruso’s status as an unrestricted free agent than to news of his arrest.

Thus far, no public comments or statements on Caruso’s arrest have been provided by the Lakers or the NBA. It’s not a serious charge, but it’s yet another factor complicating the Lakers offseason. The team is in need of good press following their first-round playoff exit. Given Los Angeles’ desire to keep LeBron James happy, they should be thankful he doesn’t believe possessing marijuana is worth a jail sentence.
