2. J.J. Redick

J.J. Redick is coming off a down year with the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks.

Redick has long been one of the league’s best long-range shooters and he’s not afraid to let it fly. However, he’s just not hitting them at a good clip anymore. In his 13 regular-season games with the Mavs this season, he shot 35.8 percent from the field — not exactly making a great first impression. Across the board, Redick’s numbers from 2020-21 are among the lowest of his career.

Redick has played more than 100 playoff games in his career and should be a strong veteran presence in the locker room. However, injuries held him back and he missed all of Dallas’ playoff games this season. The Mavs desperately need guys who can take some of the workload off of Luka Doncic’s shoulders, but Redick just doesn’t seem like the scoring threat he once was.

Redick can still provide some spot-up shooting off the bench, but he’ll be 37 years old this week and is far past his prime. He’s an unrestricted free agent this summer and our guess is he lands elsewhere.
