1. Trae Young

If the Hawks are going to win a championship this season, Trae Young will be the reason why. The 22-year-old point guard has been masterful all season, but he’s elevated to superstar status in the postseason. He’s dropping 30.5 points and 10.5 assists per game in this year’s playoffs and is coming off a 48 point explosion in Game 1. This kid is special and is on fire as of now.

Young’s ability to score at all levels makes him a tricky guard for opponents. You play tight; his handles and agility could leave your ankles in a body bag. Give him space; he’ll drain a three or throw up that deadly floater he utilizes. Not many teams have had an answer for Young this postseason, and it doesn’t look like that’ll happen anytime soon.

As the leader and team’s best player, getting a championship will be on Young’s shoulders. John Collins, Clint Capella, Kevin Huerter and others are also playing well, but this 5-foot-10 point guard is the difference-maker. In tight games, they look to Young to make the game-winning play, and he’s come through the majority of the time.

If Trae Young can continue his superstar level of play, there’s no reason why the Hawks can’t win the NBA title. They have the team defense to stop others, and their youth gives them no pressure in such a big moment. They may be young, but the Hawks are a serious, dangerous and legit threat to win it all.
