1. WR Jake Kumerow

A piece of the wedge between the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers seems to be, however unbelievably, when the team released Kumerow last year. He ultimately landed with the Bills, playing six regular season games last year with a touchdown on his lone catch for them before being waived late in the season.

After going through a waived, added to the practice squad, cut off the practice squad carwash with the New Orleans Saints, Kumerow landed back with Buffalo on a reserve/futures deal in January.

The Bills have one of the deepest wide receiver groups in the NFL–Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, Gabriel Davis, Isaiah McKenzie, etc. Kumerow will be competing with Isaiah Hodgins, Brandon Powell and rookie Marquez Stevenson for what might be one roster spot, and a path to the practice squad is blocked by whoever’s left off the final 53 from that latter group.

Kumerow will certainly look good in preseason games, going against players of comparable status and talent level. But the Bills literally don’t have a spot for him, and even if they somehow did that spot on the end of the roster can be put to far better use.
