Notorious home plate umpire Angel Hernandez was at it again with a mind-blowing bad strike call as the Dodgers and Giants opened a rivalry series.

The Dodgers and Giants have one of the best rivalries in the league. Unfortunately, MLB brass couldn’t spare a home plate umpire worthy of the matchup on Monday night.

Angel Hernandez was on duty and he was back to his old tricks.

Is this a strike?

Hernadez thought it was, calling Buster Posey out looking in the top of the first inning.

Will Smith did a ton of work to frame that strike and Hernandez fell right for it.

Posey’s out was the second of the inning for Trevor Bauer against the Giants. Alex Dickerson grounded out on the next at-bat to strand LaMonte Wade Jr.

The Dodgers immediately grabbed the lead in the bottom of the first with back-to-back home runs from Mookie Bets and Max Muncy. No strike calls necessary.
