4. Juwan Howard – Michigan

Juwan Howard has been thought of as destined for the NBA. His college experience consisted of his outstanding three-year playing career at Michigan before becoming the head man of the Wolverines in 2019. He had spent the 26 years since leaving Michigan in the NBA. He spent six years as a Miami Heat assistant after ending his 20 year NBA playing career as a two-time champion in 2013.

It’s doubtful that Howard would have taken any other college job. He had been talked about as a future NBA head coach for a couple of years. His two years at Michigan have been terrific, with a record of 42-17.

Howard is on this list because of his long history with the NBA. He is well versed in what it takes to be successful and his experience at Michigan only makes him a more attractive candidate to  NBA teams with a coaching opening.
