New York Giants: Quarterback Daniel Jones gets familiar with his new weapons
First-time NFL head coach Joe Judge certainly made his mark this past year by season’s end. Big Blue dropped its first five games but managed a 6-5 record in their final 11 contests. A once-shaky defense was one of the best in the league by the end of the year and is capable of bigger and better things this fall.
So general manager Dave Gettleman went out this offseason and added some firepower. In 2020, the New York Giants’ offensive unit managed only 25 touchdowns – tied for the fewest in the league with the Jets.
Enter former Lions’ wideout Kenny Golladay, veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph and rookie receiver Kadarius Toney – a first-round pick from the University of Florida. They join targets Darius Slayton, Sterling Shepard, tight end Evan Engram and talented running back Saquon Barkley, who missed the final 14 games of 2020 with a torn ACL.
Of course, quarterback Daniel Jones must continue to grow and pick up where he left off late in the season when he began cutting down on the turnovers. Judge’s bolstered squad kicks off the year at home against the intriguing Denver Broncos.
