Nobody has had a better month than Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber in terms of hitting the ball out of the park.

The Washington Nationals have found their stride in June. They’ve put together a record of 18-9 this month with their final game on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays. As the team has found their groove, outfielder Kyle Schwarber has been on a tear at the plate.

The 28-year-old didn’t have the best start to the season, but he’s turned it on in June. He’s been hitting home runs consistently all month. Schwarbers hot bat has him outperforming entire teams — 10 to be exact.

Kyle Schwarber has hit more home runs than 10 teams in June

It’s been an outstanding month for Schwarber at the plate. The Nationals outfielder has sent 16 balls out of the park this month, treating each game like his own personal Home Run Derby. Those 16 homers are equal or more than what 10 entire teams did for June.

The Mets, Tigers, Marlins, Royals, Phillies, Reds, Pirates, Cardinals, Diamondbacks and White Sox have all been out-homered by Schwarber since hit HR hot streak began on June 12.

When you are outperforming entire franchises in a month’s work, it worth noticing and celebrating. Schwarber has hit a home run in 16 of his last 18 games, tying legends Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa for the most during that span, according to ESPN. Schwarber is tied with Fernando Tatis Jr in the NL with 25 total home runs but trails  Shohei Ohtani (28) for the MLB lead.

Will Kyle Schwarber participate in the Home Run Derby?

The Nationals outfielder has a chance to cap off his great month against the Nationals. His batting average is .200, and he’s hit four home runs in three games against them this season.

Despite his success hitting home runs this month, Schwarber has been reluctant to participate in the Home Run Derby, saying he’ll really need to be persuaded.

Ohtani has already said he’ll partake in the Derby, so let’s hope Schwarber joins him.
