1. Dan Mullen has this team where they need to be

It wasn’t that long ago that turmoil ran through the camps of Gainesville, Fl. As just in 2018, they were coming off a 4-7 2017 season.

In came Dan Mullen, though, and the turmoil was quickly put to rest with back-to-back double-digit win seasons in 2018-2019, and an SEC championship appearance in 2020. It is safe to say that Mullen is doing a fantastic job.

There is every reason to believe that his team’s success will continue in 2021 as well.

Coming into this season, everyone is concerned about what Florida is losing, mainly Kyle Trask and an elite pass-catching group that was led by now No. 4 NFL draft pick Kyle Pitts.

But Mullen has done a great job in recruiting, one of the most important aspects of being a successful college coach. He has not had a class outside the top 15 in the rankings since he arrived in Gainesville, and that talent has translated onto the field.

Emory Jones will be the most notable of Mullen’s recruiting successes this season as he will take over as signal-caller. Jones was the fifth-best dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2018 and will add a completely new dynamic to this Florida offense in the wake of pocket passer Trask’s departure.

On defense, at face value, it seems like an inexperienced group. As a whole it is, but they bring back three linebackers, two of which earned All-SEC honors last year. It will be one of the best linebacker groups in the country and will be enough to get the Gators through some big games and get them double-digit wins for the third time in four seasons.
