New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom was furious in the dugout as he got shelled by the Atlanta Braves on Thursday.

New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been downright dominant throughout the 2021 season, where he allowed a grand total of six earned runs in 13 starts. But on Thursday, deGrom got off to a shaky start against the Atlanta Braves, where he surrendered three runs in the first inning.

As deGrom entered the dugout after being checked by the umpires for illegal foreign substances, the ace appeared to say something towards catcher James McCann before slamming his glove on the ground. deGrom was not done there, as he also grabbed a water bottle and threw it on the ground as well.

Jacob deGrom lets out his frustrations after bad first inning vs. Braves on Thursday

Yeah, deGrom was not having a great start to Bobby Bonilla Day.

The Mets got on the board early in the top of the first inning, after outfielder Michael Conforto knocked in Francisco Lindor on an RBI single. But deGrom would surrender an RBI single by Braves second baseman Ozzie Albies and a two-run homer to third baseman Austin Riley to put the Mets in an early 3-1 hole.

If things continue to go downhill in this game, deGrom may legitimately wrestle someone in the dugout. Mets, hide the steel chairs just in case.

Next. The Mets aren’t the only team that still owes Bobby Bonilla money. dark
