Kelsey Plum reached 1,000 career points with big showing off the bench

Las Vegas point guard Kelsey Plum hit 1,000 career points while helping the Aces set a franchise scoring record against the Atlanta Dream.

Sunday was a big day for Kelsey Plum and the Las Vegas Aces.

Plum came off the bench to deliver 23 points while shooting 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. In doing so, she crossed the 1,000-point mark for her career. She added eight assists to lead Vegas.

With Plum’s contribution, the Aces scored the most points in franchise history during their 118-95 win over the Atlanta Dream.

The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft is back in action after missing the entire 2020 season with an Achilles tendon tear. This season she is averaging 12.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game with 11 appearances thus far.

Las Vegas had six players in double figures, including Plum, All-Star selections Lix Cambage and Dearica Hamby, as well as A’ja Wilson, Jackie Young, and Riquna Williams.

The Aces are 14-4 and sitting atop the standings.
